What does anyone get out of horoscopes apart from the entertainment value?

How many people are even aware that the named zodiacal constellations which are used in astrological forecasting (or horoscopes) no longer correspond to the segments of the zodiac represented by their signs because of the precession of the equinoxes?
Because of the precession of the equinoxes, the equinox and solstice points have each moved westward about 30 degrees so if you been born at the same time on the same day of the year 2,000 years ago, you would have been born under a different sign. And are you aware that there should be 13 signs, not 12?
Knowing this, and the fact that we know the earth is not the center of the universe, (the geo-centric model is what astrology was based up) why does a belief in horoscopes persist?
Sure, all this stuff is known but it is ignored. It has to be 12 signs because 13 is a prime number. It can't be divided so it won't work.
Humans are pattern seeking animals and this can make us gullible. We are attracted to the "too good to be true" of the paranormal. Few take the time to investigate the claims and choose blind belief. The belief persists because astrology makes money. Hundreds millions are spent on readings, books, and trinkets. It is like belonging to your own club.
It does not matter that astrology claims fail to do better than chance. If one type does not seem right then you can try another type. Which one is true does not matter. The belief system is so strong, rational thinking takes a back seat. Not only do these people believe it works, it must work.

i know i do!! it matches my personality! i love being feisty and powerful! we are the only poisonous creatures in the astrological forecast!!
it's a love hate thing, but i am proud to be one.
anyway everyone loves us, if they don't, it's because they're jealous. ahahahahha. no seriously.

I was born on June 9th, 1968, 8.41pm in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. My astrological details are Anuradha nakchataram and Vrichika rasi.
