LOLJames: See rule …
LOLJames: See rule 5. Plus I don’t bite.

Astrology Rules:
Rule 1 – Astrologers can’t agree on the rules
Rule 2 – Slag science as a distraction
Rule 3 – Misquote famous people
Rule 4 – Avoid real supporting evidence
Rule 5 – Get personal when cornered
Rule 6 – See rules 1-5

LOLjames: “no doubt they [aliens] too were here many many many centuries ago.”

No wonder you believe in astrology…

Sounds like you’ll believe in anything that comes along. What on earth did you get for an education? Please enlighten me, you are a surprise a minute…

LOLJames: Read my …
LOLJames: Read my post again you dork. I was referring to Chariots of the Gods. Why must you jump to the wrong conclusion and ume everyone is wrong but you? Cranky old .

I think zz meant ” …
I think zz meant “Chariots of the Gods”.
It’s not like it was all fiction, but doubtfully all fact. A lot of loose interpretation of extra-terrestrials, but no doubt they too were here many many many centuries ago.

zzQwerty-
Actually- She dropped you first- then you began your antagonistic tirade against astrology.

p101James:

zzQwerty-
And how …

zzQwerty-
And how the would you know what video ZoeMarks was referring to to say you read the book? There are numerous videos on Sumerian history. Which one did he see?
Because neither of you are talking about “Ancient Sumerian History”. Even a book by that common name does not make it the video under that name.

p101James:

ZoeMarks-
You …

ZoeMarks-
You found the wrong video. Because the name of the video was “Ancient Sumerian History”. And it has been removed from YoTube.
It can not be found anywhere with that title.
Show Show Show me where that video under “that” specific title can be found.

Ancient Sumerian Cuniform writing (abouty 2800 B.C.), is deciferrable today for the most part.

Tell me which video refers to the “Twin Blue-Green Giants”. Only “Ancient Sumerian History” has it that I know of.

Zoe: I used to …
Zoe: I used to have that book. It was quite well put together. It wasn’t until I read the subsequent books debunking it that I realized how gullible one can be when young. I’ve watched many of the videos on Sumerian stuff – mostly nonsense interpretations. If you can find stuff on what they were supposedly like (and there isn’t much) it makes interesting reading.

James I found the …
James I found the video & watched it. Looked like the sort of stuff Erich Von Danikan put together for his rubbish book “Chariots of the Gods”.

So many umptions made from a set of symbols on an ancient seal. There was nothing in the video at all that I haven’t seen numerous times on websites devoted to the Sumerians. It is all the same, blind worship of a great civilizations, that is supposed to lend credence to astrology. Mildly interesting historical stuff mixed with lots of myths.

LOLjames: I would …
LOLjames: I would never go out with someone so shallow and poorly educated that they made judgments based on astrology.

Dating people with religious convictions is bad enough. At least religion has helped shape the world.

Astrology is for the blinkered and ignorant.

p101James:

so- zzQwerty, you …
so- zzQwerty, you never answered me when I asked if you lost your girlfriend to someone supposedly astrologically more compatable?

Don’t get me wrong- the relationship should come first. Not astrology. But people seldom learn enough about real astrology to make a definite judgement.
I can just see your Ex- going, “He’s a Sagittarius- and were more compatable.” “Sorry, but I’m dropping you for him.” Lol!

James: I must …
James: I must apologies. I found a reference to an archeological dig in Mesopotamia from 1987. It seems they found a long (3.5meters) brass cylinder with lenses at both ends mounted on a tripod buried in a sand drift. They carbon dated the brass at about 4,700 years old.

Also they found engravings on the side that said the makers name and the date “Ancient Sumerian Lens Company 2611 B.C.”

So I guess you were right all along.

James – sorry but a video is a video. It is not proof. I can show you videos of ghosts, UFOs and demons if you like as proof too.

Need to reference a proper scientific study. But then again you wouldn’t know what one was.

Please allow me to find the video that provides proof for the ancient Sumerians recorded historical knowledce of the “Blue-Green Twin Giants”- Uranus and Neptune. I forgot the name of it, and casnnot find it.
Until then, I can only say that we cannot be certain that telescopes did not previously exist in an ancient culture.
I know you Subterfuge Brothers wish I was wrong. And your comments always always always reflect what you ‘wish’ was true, regardless.

Zoe: Don’t worry. …
Zoe: Don’t worry. LOLjames has been posting the same tripe about the Sumerians for a while. In all the time he has been posting he never provides a source for his information, and then has the audacity to slag off at people like you and me who often cite references.

You do a search for this Sumerian stuff and you’ll find mostly astrological or other woo woo sites with nothing quoted to back up the claims, or at best some vanity press. Easier to convert a Muslim than sway these loons.

October 5th, 2008 | 6:04 pm
ZoeMarks:

I’m tired and …
I’m tired and emotional…my typing skills turn to when I’ve had a long day.

Whenever I see this bullshit posted about the ancient Sumerians time and time again it gets a bit annoying. The whole myth is based on an image on a seal! I’ve even seen quotes that they knew how to measure distances to the stars “precisely”. No reference supplied of course. Next we’ll be told they used “technology lost to us” and all that sort of nonsense. Indirect evidence for the truth of astrology too!

Your grammar/ …
Your grammar/spelling is getting as bad as LOLjames. LOL

October 5th, 2008 | 6:04 pm
zzytrewq:

Zoe: That myth …
Zoe: That myth about the Sumerians has been entrenched in astrology folklore for a while, you won’t get them to change their view merely by pointing out the error. You’ll need a sworn affidavit signed by God in triplicate.

The superstitious brigade always read things into any sign, always after the event too you’ll notice. Funny they quote scientists as confirming when it is scientists they never believe for other things, especially when those scientists point out it is all BS.

October 5th, 2008 | 6:04 pm
ZoeMarks:

Actuall:
They …

Actuall:
They ancient Sumerians recorded many observations of Venus, which are still useful, but they never knew about or described Uranus or Neptune or any other objects invisible to the eye (this was, after all, thousands of years before the invention of the telescope). You may be referring to misinterpretations of what are apparently Sumerian religious symbols on cylinder seals.

Always check your sources.
